mike recorded this mix to hand out while in st. maarten dj'ing the labor day music conference. 71 minutes of deep, techy, melodic funk, including mike's first production, 'tawdry.' as always, mixed live using turntables and a xone 92 rotary.

tom stephans first official gig at rise was among the busiest nights of 2006. mike handled opening duties in the main room, prepping both floors of the club for the onslaught that would ensue. this two hour mix captures the second half of mike's opening set, as well as 40 minutes from superchumbo himself.

this 60 minute mix was recorded live st. patty's day 2006 for craig mitchell's "the show" on techno.fm. etherial to deep to chugging and beyond, featuring quite a few tracks from favorite local lable, reversible records. this is the first pre-programmed mix that mike has produced in quite some time - ipod ready and good to go. enjoy!

filthy & swells live at rise - 01.07.06

this mp3 was recorded live from the lounge during dave & mike's first 2006 appearance (barring nye, of course). the 74 minute mix is actually comprised of two parts. the first 45 minutes begin sometime around the 2:30 hour. the last 30 minutes are from 4:30'ish. people were downstairs dancing the whole time, which is clearly reflected in the tracks from this set.

this 60 minute segment comes from the early hours of mike's 5 hour set on presidents day weekend. melding chilled out melodic beats, he set the mood as clubbers arrived in the wee hours of the morning. aptly titled "afterhours with mike swells," this mix was aired on Dres' proton radio show perceptions.
